Who I Am

I’m Ville, a curious entrepreneur from Turku who likes trying new things.

Many of the most interesting things in my life have started with something catching my curiosity and me deciding to explore it a little further. Sometimes it turns into a company, sometimes a smaller project, and sometimes simply a new way of looking at things.

Alongside building new things, I spend a lot of time thinking about life, people, and the world around me. I’m especially drawn to questions that don’t necessarily have clear answers.

Things I’m Building

Banaani Eyewear 🍌

I founded Banaani Eyewear in 2025 to challenge the traditional eyewear industry.

It started with a simple question: why do glasses cost so much?

We built an online store that sells glasses directly to consumers, without the traditional middlemen. Banaani has grown quickly in Finland, and we’re now expanding internationally.

Other projects: Mielikirja, Nopeet.

What I’m Interested In

Creating things – I love trying out new ideas and seeing how a small observation can gradually turn into something entirely new.

Philosophy & psychology – I like thinking about life, what it means to be human, and where meaning comes from. Why do we think and act the way we do? What does a good life actually mean?

Exploring the unfamiliar – New experiences, different people, and situations that take me beyond what’s familiar. I want to understand both the world around me and myself a little better.

Artificial intelligence – I’m interested in what AI can already do today, especially in my own companies. At the same time, I think a lot about bigger questions: what might the world look like if we one day create AI that’s more intelligent than humans? The possibilities excite me, but the direction it’s taking also concerns me.

People I’d Like to Meet

One reason this website exists is that I’d like to meet new, interesting people.

I’m especially drawn to people who think for themselves, question familiar assumptions, and see the world from a slightly different perspective.

They might be entrepreneurs, artists, researchers, people building technology, or simply people whose lives have taken very different paths from mine.

I believe some of the most interesting ideas and opportunities come from unexpected encounters.

Not every meeting needs a purpose. Sometimes a good conversation is reason enough to get to know someone.
